The Summary of the Theme Book

The Little boy and the Big Elephant

Once upon a time, there lived a man named Fredrick. Fredrick had never seen an elephant until his closest friends in nearby countries sent him one. He was excited and happy to see it for the first time. He invited some of the country’s officials and his son to come and see the elephant. The elephant was big! It had a body like a wall and legs that looked like four pillars. The government officials were astonished at the size of the elephant. They asked about the weight of the elephant. Fredrick replied that no one could measure the heaviness of such an elephant. Some people claimed they had to cut down a tree and build a big scale to weigh such an elephant. Others disagreed and argued that it’s not advisable to have such a big scale, and no one would have the strength or willpower to build it. Fredrick nodded in disbelief. His son Mathew, who was only seven years old, suggested diving the elephant into deep waters with a big ship and marking the level of the submerged water. Afterward, he drove the elephant ashore and loaded the boat with stones until it sank to the marked line. He then measured the weight of the stones. He told the government officials that the heaviness of the elephant equaled the weight of the stones. His father, Fredrick, nodded with a smile and told other individuals that Mathew had weighed the heaviness of the elephant.

Theme Book Significance

It makes them understand that their little action matters and they should never feel intimidated when engaging with older individuals. This theme book reminds your young ones that they are smart, intelligent, and brave. Let your children know they are strong enough to stand alone, smart enough to know when they need help, and brave enough to offer societal assistance. This book reminds your children that they are instrumental and their actions matter.
